This day in history: Frisbees introduced

One of the most popular toys of the 1950s and 60s, the frisbee hit the market on this day in 1957.  Introduced by the Wham-o company, the toy took America by storm and “playing frisbee” in any of a number of ways remains a favorite activity for all ages – children, students, and adults alike!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – January 15

“We must keep God in the forefront.                                             Let us be Christian in all our actions.”                                                                  — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Far more than just another day off from school or work, the third Monday in January commemorates the life of one of America’s most prominent 20th century Christian leaders.

Skyway Library has copies of this book – stop by and check one out to read his eloquent and thought-provoking speeches.

Happy Friday!

Your friendly Skyway Library staff won’t actually hold you hostage, but we do need all books due in December returned before Break.  Just stop by the Library and drop it in the book return!  Thanks!
