Emergency Landing

There was an emergency helicopter landing at El Vista Elementary School. The helicopter had encountered mechanical problems before the landing in the school's playground area. This strange scene happened in Modesto, California. A neighborhood resident, Susanna Ballard, states that she thought the helicopter was shaking badly and thought it was going to crash. The helicopter pilot (unnamed) said that he was having trouble with his vehicle at 800 feet and needed to quickly find a place to land.

Sharks send Stars packing

The San Jose Sharks have hit their stride off of the All-Star Break. Defeating Columbus on Tuesday by a 6-0 score team Teal were at home again to face a struggling Dallas team. Dallas played the night before and Defeated hated rival of San Jose, The Anaheim Ducks 6-2. They were flying to start the game when Brent Burns wristed a puck past back up Stars Netminder Richard Bachman. The Sharks flew out to a quick 2-0 lead, then Dallas struck back late in the period, only to see San Jose put two more pucks behind the youngster. 3rd period had one goal a peice to end the game at 5-2 San Jose saw Burns have a 3 assist night, Pavelski, Thornton, and Clowe also had a couple of goals to help team teal to their 3rd straight win, 2 of the 3 were shutout performances by Antti Neimi

Clippers end loosing streak

Last night the clippers played the Utah Jazz in the salt lake city. The game was a close one with the clippers winning 107-105. After the game one of the clippers main stars had a season high 34 points and was shocked at what the news reporters told him after the game. The clippers have not one in salt lake city since 2003 and yesterday was the first time they beat them there since. Paul says that he is honored to play on the clippers and plans to keep there winning streak going.

Snow storm in Japan

Japan recently suffered the worst snow storm the world has seen in 6 years recently. It crippled most of its western coast and killed more than 50 people and injured about 600. The storm put down 10 feet of snow causing at least one bridge to collapse and closing schools around the region. An avalanche happened today and buried 3 people, but they survived. Because of the amount of snow fall Japan is running out of money to pay for clean up.

Beating With Light Sabers

In Portland, Oregon, David Allen Canterbury was ordered to a 45-day jail sentence and mental health evaluation because of his attack on toy store customers with light sabers. This incident happened in December of 2011. The 33 year old man was charged with assault and resisting arrest. Portland police said Canterbury "had a Star Wars light saber in each hand and swung at three customers...at a Toys R Us store." Canterbury went out of the store and further on swung at the police. Presently, he is banned from Toys R Us.

NHL All-Star Game

The NHL All-Star game is upon us this weekend. This year it is in Ottowa and the Stars from all the teams will clash for a weekend of Fantasy drafts, Skills competition, and the All-Star game. The Represintitives from the San Jose Sharks are young star Logan Coture and head coach Todd Mclellan. This year Alexander Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, and some other big names will not be participating, but will still draw attraction with many players from the Ottowa Senators and many Canadian Teams insluding the Winnepeg Jets. The Fantasy draft was team Chara, who is the Captian of the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins, and Daniel Alffredson who is the Captian of the Ottowa Senators. Many players will have a week to rest and take a vacation. But Logan Coture will be playing for team Alffredson this year.

Cruise Captain claims he tripped and fell into a life boat…

Francesco Schettino claimed he tripped and fell into a life boat while aiding passengers in their escape attempts. He claimed to courts that once he was in the life boat it was impossible to get out since the lowering system was malfunctioning. He also said that he did lie to the court about dropping anchor after the crash to stabilize the ship. It seems like the captain is just coming up with a wild excuse since h really probably just panicked and left the ship out of fear for his own life.

Rob Gronkowski misses practice

The patriots star tight end sat out the first practice on thursday due to an ankle injury. This is a bad sigh for the pats because Gronkowski is the key to there offense. The patriots quarterback Tom Brady sat out during the practices leading up to the super bowl in 2007. The coaching staff believes Gronkowski will be ok come super bowl time and so does all of the Patriot fans.

Why Billy Cundiff was rushed on the fateful field goal try

It seems that there may have been some confusion for Billy Cunduff, the Ravens kicker, in the championship game. In case you did not know he missed the short field goal which would have taken the game to overtime. Now what has been brought to light is that a malfunction with the Patriots scoreboard messed with Cunduff's routine. Cunduff always does certain steps on each down before the kick, but because it said third down he was rushed and it resulted in the missed kick. I personally believe that this is just an excuse for missing the pressure got to him and sometimes people mess up.
